After Monsterland has been destroyed, the entire world is thrown into chaos. Wyatt Baldwin and his friends must go beyond the boundaries of their small town to reestablish contact with the outside world. During their journey they discover a new threat released from the bowels of the defunct theme park. The danger of werewolves, vampires and zombies pale in comparison to an army of relentless mummies, Vincent Conrad’s reanimated monster and the menace of a life-sucking ooze they call The Glob. Wil Wyatt and his friends survive when they reenter the scariest place on earth?
Review: 4 stars
Monsterland Reanimated picked up right where the first book left off. I was quickly reminded of why I love the first one so much as this one also took off fast for the thrilling storyline. Most of the characters from the previous novel reappear, with their contrasting personalities that would make a good horror movie cast.
Thee multiple points of views switch back and forth at the perfect moment, keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire reading experience. Since this is a sequel, the beginning moves faster as the world building happened in the first book and we already know the characters. The characters have grown from their experience in Monsterland, so they’re more mature than in the first installment.
It did suffer from a little bit of second-book-syndrome. While the first book was incredible, this one was just good. I had higher hopes for it and although it was still entertaining, it wasn’t as great as the first one was. It was an awesome follow up and a wild ride. I wouldn’t have expected less from Michael Okon.
