It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? — September 17th

This bookish post was started by Kathryn at The Book Date, check her out! Basically this post is just my way of sharing what I’m currently reading and a place for you to share what you’re reading. I’m constantly looking for ways to grow my TBR, but my most favorite way is through book recommendations from other bloggers.

I’ve never participated in one of these weekly posts, but I’m trying to find ways to get to know other bloggers better, so hopefully this might start up some conversations.

Just finished reading:

Jaclyn and the Beanstalk

I had finished this before the week started, but finally posted my review because it was a bit critical and I was on a blog tour for this title. Check it out here.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor I had the joy of reading this book this week. I read it slowly and cherished it. This book was like eating cheesecake, you want to savor it. My review will be posted later this week, as I needed a little while to recover from that ending before writing it.

Review of Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody

So last week I had a different book lined up to read, but I couldn’t imagine reading anything that wouldn’t be awesome after Strange the Dreamer, because I could just see myself going into a reading slump. Ace of Shades was the perfect book to follow it up. It is gritty and magical, a perfect recipe for a great read. Check out my review here.

Currently Reading:

A danger to herself and others by Alyssa sheinmel

I have read a TON of books that are set in mental hospitals, and they all seem to blend together, but this one has managed to stand out. The writing makes me feel like I have a personal relationship with the main character. I can’t wait to tell you all about this one in my review, so keep an eye out for it next week. If you want a copy of this I believe it is still available on  Netgalley.

What am I Reading Next?

Boneless Mercies by April Genevieve Tulcholke

I love April Genevieve Tulcholke, so this was my most anticipated read of the season. I had a hard time finding a copy, but a fairy from Twitter granted my #bookishwish, so I get to read this lovely gem. I’m buddy reading it with my friend Lara tomorrow.

Witchmark RD3 fixedbleeds new dress

So I don’t really remember what this book is about, but a friend of mine wanted to read it with me. I think I first heard about this one through an email. So I’m going in blind and I don’t mind.

Star crossed by pintip Dunn

This was the book that I was planning on reading next last week. I’m on the blog tour for this book and it’s not until October 2nd, so I might push this one back again, we will see. I do have to check which titles are coming out soon, so I might read something else. But who knows, my TBR is always subject to change.

  1. All those books look great! I am currently reading an ARC of The Confectioner’s Guild (so far so good) and an ARC of The Witch of Willow Hall. And because I like to torture myself with reading three books at a time, I am also listening to the audiobook of Mrs. Sherlock Holmes.
