Top Ten Tuesday is a prompt for a list of 10 things related to books. It was originally hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. The prompt this week is: Books By My Favorite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read
I have never participated in a Top Ten Tuesday before, but I have loved reading this tag all day that I had to participate.
April Genevieve Tucholke
Obviously if you read my review today of The Boneless Mercies, then you’ve heard me rave about this author. I love her books because they’re dark fantasy tales filled with awesome characters. Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea is on my list of all time favorite novels, and I definitely suggest it if you haven’t read it. Her writing is gothic and poetic in that book, so I have stalked her ever since I read it. The only book I haven’t read by her is Wink Poppy Midnight
Richelle Mead
I had Vampire Academy sitting on my shelf for years before I finally read it. Once I finished I bought the whole series on kindle and finished the 6 books in 2 days. I have also read all six books in the Bloodlines series and the first two books in The Glittering Court series. Richelle Mead has written a ton of books and I could probably fill this whole list with unread books by her. The books she has written that I want to read the most are Soundless, which is a standalone, and The Emerald Sea which is the 3rd book in The Glittering Court series. I haven’t been able to get ahold of a copy of Soundless since my library doesn’t have it, but I should be able to get a copy of The Emerald Sea.
Laini Taylor
I discovered Laini Taylor after reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone and I loved it. She has such a wild imagination and really brings fantasy books to life. Since everyone has been talking about how much they want Muse of Nightmares. I recently read Strange the Dreamer and loved that one as well. I haven’t finished the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy and I haven’t read Muse of Nightmares because it’s not out yet and I wasn’t lucky enough to get a review copy. These are all high on my TBR.
Holly Black
I have read a few of Holly Black’s books and really liked them. I loved Tithe, The Cruel Prince and White Cat. I want to read the sequels to these books, but I will leave The Wicked King off of the list because it’s not out yet.
Sherry Ficklin
I really loved Queen of Someday and The Canary Club. I was so thrilled to find that Demons Lie was on Netgalley, and they gave me a copy. So this is one that I get to read pretty soon, which is awesome.
Thomas K. Carpenter
This is an indie author that I actually discovered on Instafreebie. I got to read Trials of Magic for free and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. I would love to read any of his books as I loved his writing, but for this list I would love to read the next installment in The Hundred Halls series. (If you want to read Trials of Magic then follow this link, it’s still free.)

I have heard a lot of great things about Laini Taylor’s books, but I haven’t read any yet. Which is your favourite of the ones you have? I still haven’t read Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson, but I loved her other books!

My favorite by Laini Taylor is probably Daughter of Smoke and Bone, but Strange the Dreamer is also AMAZING. I just found the plot of Daughter of Smoke and Bone to be so original and different that I would rank it higher than Strange the Dreamer.
I don’t read a lot of contemporary novels, so Morgan Matson’s books aren’t what I would normally read. I have heard good things though. There was a lot of buzz for Save the Date.

I always see Daughter of Smoke and Bone at the library and I’m really tempted by it. And I’ve seen Strange the Dreamer all over Goodreads and I’ve never seen a negative review for it!! I’ll check them out and let you know what I think 😊

Laini Taylor has a vivid imagination to create such original fantasy novels. Strange the Dreamer won Science fiction or fantasy of the year which is why I checked it out.

I also received Trials of Magic through Instafreebie and came to adore the main characters and their world. 😊 I loved the fierceness of one sister, with the determination of her elder to never back down or give up on her dreams, no matter how many times she gets knocked back by others. 😊

Did you continue the series? I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I read it. I just loved the different halls and the characters. I’m glad to find someone else who has actually read it!

I haven’t continued the series as of yet. I have been meaning to but there’s just been so much going on lately that I guess I keep forgetting to order it. 😔
You know what, tomorrow morning I’m going to buy book 2 and I’m going to start reading. 😊
