IN FALL, THE AIR IS CRISP AND CLEAR | NAME A BOOK WITH A VIVID SETTING!

27883214

For this I will choose Caraval! This book had great world building and setting, but fell short of it’s potential. If you want to read a book with a really awesome setting and super magical setting read Caraval!

NATURE IS BEAUTIFUL…BUT ALSO DYING | NAME A BOOK THAT IS BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN, BUT ALSO DEALS WITH A HEAVY TOPIC LIKE LOSS OR GRIEF.

Bleed Like Me! This book shows the inside of a person who self harms and also has a super co-dependent relationship, but is also beautifully written. I will also pick Flawed, this book shows you how you look at people without even realizing it. This is a must read, especially if you don’t realize your bias!

FALL IS BACK TO SCHOOL SEASON | SHARE A NON-FICTION BOOK THAT TAUGHT YOU SOMETHING NEW.

Honestly I don’t read much non-fiction.

IN ORDER TO KEEP WARM, IT’S GOOD TO SPEND SOME TIME WITH THE PEOPLE WE LOVE | NAME A FICTIONAL FAMILY/HOUSEHOLD/FRIEND-GROUP THAT YOU’D LIKE TO BE A PART OF.

Six of Crows! I would love to be a part of the gang with Kaz, Nina and Inej!

THE COLOURFUL LEAVES ARE PILING UP ON THE GROUND | SHOW US A PILE OF FALL-COLOURED SPINES!

FALL IS THE PERFECT TIME FOR SOME STORYTELLING BY THE FIRESIDE | SHARE A BOOK WHEREIN SOMEBODY IS TELLING A STORY.

Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea! Super gothic, gory, violent and creepy, a perfect fall read!

THE DAYS ARE GETTING COLDER | NAME A SHORT, HEARTWARMING READ THAT COULD WARM UP SOMEBODY’S COLD AND RAINY DAY.

2018-07-06_00.30.52

Not exactly short, but definitely heartwarming, Starry Eyes is a cute contemporary romance.

FALL RETURNS EVERY YEAR | NAME AN OLD FAVOURITE THAT YOU’D LIKE TO RETURN TO SOON.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I don’t want to return to the first one, but I want to read the rest of the series! This book was amazing. Laini Taylor has an incredible imagination and I love everything that she writes.

      1. I love the Finger Lakes region, but I’m in Rochester. I recently went hiking in Naples and the LEAVES omg. It’s so much warmer in NC. Are you anywhere near Asheville? I love it there! I went on a vacation with my mom in Asheville! We saw the Biltmore and omg! It’s where my parents want to retire.

      2. I love Asheville, too, and I go every chance I get! I reviewed a book today about one of the Vanderbilts who lived in that beautiful Biltmore! I bet your leaves are getting lovely this time of year. We are still very green right now. I hope your parents are able to retire in Asheville! It’s a wonderland!

      3. The Vanderbilts are fascinating! I went to Shelburne museum this summer (in Vermont I think?) and the lady who built the museum was related to the Vanderbilts, it’s crazy how involved in history they are. Did you know that they were almost on the Titanic, but changed plans at the last minute? Where in NC are you? It’s actually still pretty green, peak leaves will be in about 2 weeks or so, it’s been warm and we’ve been getting a lot of rain so my backyard is super lush. The leaves are starting to be beautiful though. It’s hard to plan a hike around the leaves because once they change if you get one bad windy day then they’re all gone.

  1. Aw man, I did Dear Nobody at school, and I wonder if I will ever be able to read it without hating it haha! I do agree with you about Caraval though, I wanted to spend so much more time immersed in the world and to really get my teeth into it, but it felt like it was over so fast. I need to read Legendary to see if it gets developed any further in that.

    1. Wow really? I really enjoyed Dear Nobody, my school didn’t offer anything that… modern lol. Legendary was cool, but different. I liked it because it was from Tella’s POV but the setting was different. I wish I had Tella’s POV and the setting from Caraval. That would have been the perfect book. I hope you love it though.

      1. Yeah my school picked up a lot of fairly new literature alongside the classics. We did The Handmaid’s Tale as well, but I think it’s hard to keep the passion going for a book when you’re studying it in such a prescriptive way.

      2. OMG I did not like The Handmaid’s Tale, it had a great concept, but I just don’t like Atwood’s writing. I swear we got nothing modern to read at all. I get it though, I might have appreciated some of the books if it weren’t drilled in my head why they were wearing red and stuff like that.
