Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This year I was thinking of how thankful I am for all of my bookish friends, so I wanted to do this tag. I stuffed myself full and am now watching football, but I still wanted to talk about books!
BREAD | what book is purely fluff, and has no real plot line?
Confessions of a Queen B* has a plot, but is definitely a fluff read. I actually love a fluff book every now and then. I find that they are great to read after a really heavy long book or when you’re in a reading slump. This is one of my favorite fluff reads and I got it off of Instafreebie, which is now Prolific Works. Check out my review!
TURKEY | what book made you want to fall asleep?
And I Darken is a book that had so much buzz. I was really excited for it and had really high hopes. I thought it might have a vampire aspect to it, which it didn’t and I thought it would be interesting. I HATED it. If you want to hear me bitch about it you can read my review here.
GRAVY | what book makes the whole series worth reading?
Oh I have so many favorites that I could list here. I am going to go with Vampire Academy because I loved it so much that I read the 6 books in the series in 3 days and then went on to read the spin-off series as well. I loved this world so much that I read 12 books set in it. I am trying to catch up on series I have started before the end of the year, so I can’t wait to see everyone’s answers
STUFFING | what book is stuffed full of action scenes?
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa just came to mind. I really love this series! I feel like it is very underappreciated. I just started reading Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kagawa, so that’s probably why it was on my mind.
MASHED POTATOES | what book looked good, and then wasn’t?
Grave Mercy! I did not finish this book. I was super excited for it, but could not finish it. I very rarely DNF books, but I couldn’t stomach this one. It bored me and I put it down rather than suffer for over 500 pages.
CRANBERRIES | what book has the sweetest romance?
I am so tempted to pick out a contemporary romance, but honestly my all time favorite romance is between Lazlo and Sarai in Strange the Dreamer. I just feel like the two of them belonged together and it was love rather than lust, which I feel like you see in most books. The dream dates that they have are so sweet. Read my review here to listen to me rave all about it.
CORN | what’s the corniest book you’ve ever read?
This is hard for me because I actually like a lot of cheesy books. I was a huge Twilight fan in middle school, but looking back I see how corny it was. So I guess I’m going to say Fallen because it made me roll my eyes a lot. It sounded like it would be great and had a really good cover, but it was pretty corny.
GREEN BEANS | what book is too long and needs to be shortened?
I already know I’m going to get dragged for saying this. A Court of Thorns and Roses was terrible and way too long. I just wanted it to be over. Everyone raves about Sarah J Maas, but since I am not a huge romance fan, I wasn’t a fan of this book. If you want to hear what my issues were I hope you check out my review!
PUMPKIN PIE | what book do you read to get out of a reading slump?
I don’t reread books much, but the book that pulled me out of a reading slump the best is The Lying Game. It was kind of a fluff read, but it was also fast paced and interesting. Check out my review!
DOG/CAT | what’s your favorite Thanksgiving food that you would steal from the table?
My dad makes some really great stuffing and it goes really fast, so that’s probably what I would steal. For a bonus, here are my fluff babies.
