This bookish post was started by Kathryn at The Book Date, check her out! Basically this post is just my way of sharing what I’m currently reading and a place for you to share what you’re reading. I’m constantly looking for ways to grow my TBR, but my most favorite way is through book recommendations from other bloggers. Please make sure to comment below with what you’ve read this past week!
So I didn’t do this post last week and this week it’s actually Tuesday, so I have a lot to tell you guys about.
The Black Witch by Laurie Forest- 5 Stars
I finished reading The Black Witch. I absolutely loved this novel with it’s intricate world and multi-layered characters. This makes my list of favorite YA fantasy titles. Check out my review to hear what I loved about it.
The Iron Flower by Laurie Forest- 4 Stars
After reading The Black Witch I had to read the sequel, The Iron Flower. While I did love this continuation in the series, this one focused more on action rather than character development, which is really what made the first book so great. Check out my review to hear more of my thoughts.
The Myth Seeker by Cory Barclay- 4 Stars
I read The Myth Seeker because I was looking for a quick read after two intricate fantasies over 500 pages. It was great and I am really glad I took this author request. Here is my review.
Not Even Bones by Rebecca Schaeffer- 4 Stars
Not Even Bones was a book that I had really high expectations for, while it didn’t meet them, it did come close. The idea was great, but the execution could have been better. I enjoyed the morally grey characters and it was a fast, fun and fresh read.
Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa- 4 Stars
Rhapsodic was a book that I wanted to read as soon as I heard about it. I really liked it, but it had a bit too much sex for me. I would compare it to A Court of Thorns and Roses, but a lot shorter, without an intricate fantasy world and with more likable characters.
Watch for my reviews of Rhapsodic and Not Even Bones this week!
Right now I’m reading The Long Game, it’s the sequel to The Fixer by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I am a big fan of Jennifer Lynn Barnes and The Fixer was actually the first book I read by her, so I was psyched to get a copy of it’s sequel for my birthday.
What am I Reading Next?
I am not really sure actually what I am reading next, but it’s probably one of these books. What do you think I should read next?
This month I have read a lot of great books because I have pretty much exclusively read books that I got for my birthday. Last month I read all review copies, and next month I am hoping to have a combination of review copies and backlist titles.
What are you currently reading? Have you read any of the books on the list? What do you think I should read next? Is there anything that looks really good that you want to read? Make sure to comment so we can chat!
