So I decided to participate in Bookending Winter as I really enjoyed doing Blogoween and it is created by the same people. I love festive stuff, and had a ton of fun in October. Plus Blogoween did wonders for my stats. If you want to check out Bookending Winter click here for information about the event.
Today I am doing the Christmas Character’s Tag from Anthony @ Keep Reading Forward, check out his blog, it’s amazing.
Rules:

Santa Clause
A Gift You Received or Want This Year
At the top of my wish list is this series. It looks AMAZING. I want physical copies of all of them because they’re so pretty and I want to take pretty photos for bookstagram.
Mrs. Clause
A Favorite Holiday Treat to Have Every Year
So my mom makes french toast bake every year for Christmas morning. It’s her special recipe and it has apples in it and it’s gooey and syrupy and super sweet. It’s one of our Christmas traditions.
Ghost of Christmas Past
A Holiday Memory from Your Past
So we have a lot of holiday traditions and they’re all so much fun. On Christmas Eve we typically do a puzzle, but sometimes we play a game. A few years ago we got an Erector Set for my mom for Christmas and spent all day on Christmas making a robot. It’s a pretty nice Erector set and a lot of fun.
Buddy the Elf
“The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.”
A Holiday Song You like to Sing Each Holiday Season
Hmm, I’m not a caroler or anything and I don’t like to sing much. But I really like Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.
Misfit Toys
An Unpopular Toy You Really Wanted to Get One Year
Oh jeeze. I don’t know, I guess I wanted an Easy Bake Oven, but that isn’t really unpopular.
Grinch
A Moment When Your Heart Grew Three Sizes
My mom cross stitched me a bookmark that had my name on it. I LOVE MY MOM.
Jack Frost
A Tradition You Like to Do Every Winter
I love that we always decorate the tree all together as a family. Which typically means on the 23rd. We drink hot cocoa which is mostly marshmallows and we listen to Christmas music and my dad always throws way too much tinsel on the tree.
Hero Boy
A Moment You Believed in a Holiday Wish/Miracle
I don’t really know about this one. I feel like Christmas gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling every year. It is a magical holiday.
Cindy Lou Who
A Favorite Holiday Tradition
Every year we go and cut down a Christmas tree. We walk for hours because we always wait too long to get one, and by the end we are freezing. But then we get free hot cocoa and get to pet a yak. He’s fuzzy and smells bad, but it is a bushel of fun.
Frosty the Snowman
A Memory Involving Snow or A Memory You Would Like to Have Involving Snow
Oh I would say all the snowmen that my sister and I made as kids. We would make some monster snowmen. I also loved sledding with these giant tubes. I think we only did that once, but it was so much fun.
Oh, also my dog Molly used to love the snow. She would always cry and tell us about it as soon as it was snowing. Then she would go out there and stick her whole face in the snow and throw it up in the air. I miss her so much whenever it snows.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
A Holiday Activity You Like Doing
AH! I love watching Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer with my dad, funny that it’s the name of this tag. It’s one of his favorite movies. I love the misfit toys and just the whole movie. We’ve been trying to catch it on TV, but haven’t seen it yet this year.
Ebenezer Scrooge
“Bah, Humbug!”
A Favorite Holiday Saying or Quote
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
This year it looked like Christmas on Thanksgiving. I love when the snow sticks to all the branches. The snow just looks so peaceful and I love it.

Loved reading your answers! Your Mom sounds amazing and epic–And if your mom ever wants to share her recipe I’d be more than willing to take a few notes on it! 😉

I will ask her for it, she’s not the kind of mom who is like “it’s a super secret family heirloom and you can never have it.” or anything, so I can totally share it with you. Respond to my comment and I’ll leave it non-replied to so I can remember.

It’s typically just something we make for special occasions, but I wish that we made it for more than that.
