Looking Ahead… January Releases
Physical ARCs
Pretty In Punxsutawney by Laurie Boyle Crompton
This novel is kind of a mix of Pretty in Pink and Groundhog Day. I recently finished it and can’t wait to share my review as it was a 5 star read for me!
The Falconer by Dana Czapnik
A coming of age story centered on young women and set in 1993. I am really not interested in reading this and would trade it to someone who wants it for a finished copy.
Golden Child by Claire Adam
This is a novel following the story of a family and set in Trinidad. I actually have doubles of this and am willing to trade one if someone is interested.
eARCs
Killing Adam by Earik Beann
This is a science fiction novel where implanted chips control everything. This is under 300 pages so it’s a quick read and I will probably fit it in before the end of the year.
She Lies in Wait by Gytha Lodge
A psychological mystery/thriller about a teenager who’s body is discovered thirty years after she went missing on a camping trip with a group of friends.
Looker by Laura Sims
This is a thriller about one woman’s obsession with a beautiful actress. At 192 pages I can probably also fit this in by the end of the year
The Woman Inside by E.G. Scott
A domestic thriller about secrets and revenge. I have heard a lot of good things about this one.
Circle of Shadows by Evelyn Skye
I just recently got this review copy and didn’t realize it was coming out so soon! I don’t think I will get to it before the end of the year, but it will probably be one of my first reads of next year.
Want To Read
King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
Of course this is at the top of my list of books I really want to read. Six of Crows is one of my favorite books ever. I have read every book set in this world and am thrilled to return and read Nikolai’s story.
Death Prefers Blondes by Caleb Roehrig
This story is about a girl who lives a double life and in one of them she is a thief! I love con artists and thieves, so this is pretty high on my TBR!
A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
This is a fantasy retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I was not lucky enough to get an ARC, but I really want to check it out regardless.
White Stag by Kara Barbieri
This is another book that I really wanted the ARC of. It just looks so pretty and sounds so interesting. There is a goblin king! I need this book!
The Binding by Bridget Collins
This book is GORGEOUS! History meets fantasy in this tale where a book binder is able to erase bad memories by binding them into books. It sounds absolutely fascinating.
The Gutter Prayer by Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan
This is a book I recently added to my TBR. It combines two of my favorite things to read about; thievery and fantasy.
The Whispers by Greg Howard
This is a middle grade novel about faeries that I would love to check out.
Two Can Keep A Secret by Karen McManus
I am thrilled for this to come out. I loved reading One of Us is Lying (click here for my review) and while this isn’t a sequel, it is another novel by the same author.
The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
I sadly did not get an ARC of this novel, but have heard nothing but great things about it as the reviews are pouring in.
Echo North by Joanna Ruth Meyer
This is a fantasy retelling based on the fairy tale that apparently inspired Beauty and the Beast. It sounds really interesting.
Have Read
The Wicked King by Holly Black
I was lucky enough to get a physical ARC of this book gifted to me for my birthday. I actually enjoyed it better than the first book. Check out my review!
The Similars by Rebecca Hanover
I was really excited for this one, but it fell short for me. A lot of people seemed to really like it, but I expected more from it. Check out my review and hear why it disappointed me.
I am really looking forward to doing this post for February as there are a ton of amazing fantasy titles coming out in February. Keep your eyes peeled for my post next month!

wow, I have only heard about The Similars. Though in December, I read 2 2019 releases: The Only Woman in the Room, by Marie Benedict, and The Book Artist, by Mark Pryor
