The Invested Aunt: A Character’s romantic relationship you are deeply invested in
Adrian Ivashkov from the Vampire Academy and the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead. I was obsessed with his love life through it all. I had a lot of opinions on who he should have wound up with.
The Controlling Mom: A Character that takes control of every situation
Immediately I thought of Cersei from Game of Thrones, because she is embodies this. But if we’re talking about those books, then Little Finger and Varys are the master plotters.
The Drunk Uncle: A book that was just all over the place
Echoes by Alice Reeds. THIS BOOK! WHAT IN THE WORLD? I was left with more questions than answers. I still don’t know what was going on. It looked so cool, but really it was just super confusing. I am almost compelled to re-read it to see if I could figure out the answers to all my questions. This book probably has one of THE BIGGEST plot holes ever. Read my review if you like.
The Snoozing Grandpa: A Book you just keep falling asleep on
Grave Mercy. I could NOT finish this one. It was far too long and boring for me. I have heard some positive things, but I just could NOT get into it.
The Nosey Grandma: A Character who stays in everybody else’s business
Tess Kendrick from The Fixer is in everyone’s business, and it’s literally her job. She helps fix teen’s problems at her D.C. elite high school. While I hated the second book in this series, the first is probably my favorite of Jennifer Lynn Barnes. Do yourself a favor, read this book, but don’t pick up the sequel.
The Bored Kid: A Character that you are just over already
Snape! Buckle up, because I am about to rant. Okay, yes it was so sad that Alan Rickman died… But “always” is just creepy. He was forever obsessed with a woman who DIDN’T WANT HIM! It’s creepy and weird, yet J.K. Rowling tries to make it sound super sweet. In reality he was just a creepy guy who was kinda stalker like. Being so obsessed with the fact that someone else got the girl that you are SUPER mean to her son for years, is a huge red flag. His jealousy and insecurities would have never made for a healthy relationship. His obsession is not healthy and it is not sweet, it’s creepy and encourages creepy behavior. Snape was in the friend zone, and since Lily was NICE to him, he was obsessed with her for all time. COULD THE HARRY POTTER FANDOM FREAKING MOVE ON ALREADY?
The Show-off Cousin: A Book that isn’t what it claims to be
A Court of Thorns and Roses! Everyone says this series is so amazing. I DON’T GET IT! What is so great about Sarah J. Maas? I really was not a fan of this book, so I haven’t bothered to check out her other series. Too much romance, not enough plot.
The Awkward Date: A Character you don’t even know why is there
Neely from Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. You can just go back into your hidey-hole Neely! River and Violet were doing JUST FINE before you showed up. GO AWAY! #TeamRiver
The Spoiled Sibling: A Character that gets whatever they want
Karou! So Karou isn’t really spoiled per say, but she does get whatever she wants through wishes! Daughter of Smoke in Bone was an amazing read, I got the rest of the series for Christmas and can’t wait to read the rest of the books.
The Mid-life Crisis Dad: A Book that switched covers in the middle of the series
Sometimes I love new covers for books, other times I DESPISE THEM. When I buy a book series I want the whole series to match, is that too much to ask for? I’ve never liked the covers with people on them for this series. I was initially drawn to this series by the lower covers and the titles. But now I own half the series with beautiful covers and it is maddening. I’m pretty sure the covers with people on them came first though for this series.

It’s freaking CREEPY! It’s weird. He’s the weird guy in the friendzone who probably creeped her out forever.
