My Favorite Bookish Romances

My Favorite Bookish Romances.png

For Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some of my favorite bookish romances. I don’t read a ton of books with romance as the main plot point anymore, but romances appear in almost every book that I read. I have read terribly written insta-love stories and about unbelievably perfect men, but today I wanted to share some of the books that I thought actually got it right.

I love to read about real romance and true love, bad boys and sometimes I even love lusty stories. These are my favorite bookish romances.

True Love

Strange the Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor

This is probably one of my favorites! Lazlo and Sarai are probably my favorite romance of all time. All the symbolism and real romance rather than lust. She’s the Muse of Nightmares and he is Strange the Dreamer, it felt like they were meant to be from the very start.

The Bad Boy

Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea and Between the Spark and the Burn by April Genevieve Tucholke

I picked this series for this list because River is totally my book boyfriend. Most people who read this series are on team Neely, but I am totally a River girl. I love how twisted and messed up he is. His darkness is a huge part of what made me love this series and I wish this series was longer so I could read about him more.

It’s Mostly Lust

Deeper and Harder by Robin York

I am not a huge fan of lusty books, but I did really love these New Adult titles. They are sexy and I feel like they are full of both love and lust. I love how flawed the characters are, and the descriptions of West are pretty sizzling. I would probably never pick these books up now (you guys know I hate shirtless men on covers), but I really loved them when I read them.

      1. You really should give it a chance. Laini Taylor’s imagination is like nothing else. Make sure you’re ready for an intricate fantasy though. It’s one of those books you should read when you’re ready for it. I am waiting to return to Laini Taylor’s other series because I want to really be able to enjoy it properly LOL. omg I sound like a book freak.

  1. Totally agree with you about Strange the Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares! Lazlo and Sarai’s relationship is beautifully written and just gorgeous. I get all mushy inside whenever I read either book!
