Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings based on the meme Waiting on Wednesday by Breaking the Spine. In this weekly post people share a book that they’re excited about being released.
I have always loved reading these posts, looking forward at books that people can’t wait for. But I always find that I want a list and it is just one book. So I decided I would share three upcoming books that I can’t wait for. If you click on the title of the book it will take you to the book’s Goodreads page.
This week’s Can’t Wait Wednesday post is all about sequels! Here are three sequels that I’m super psyched to read!
Publication Date: September 1st, 2020
Blood & Honey is the sequel to Serpent & Dove, which was a bit of a disappointment for me. (Read my review here!) Serpent & Dove was one of my most anticipated releases of last year and my expectations were way too high, so of course I was disappointed. It focused more on romance than I like in a fantasy novel and I wanted more world building. So I am still going to pick up the sequel, but I’m not going to expect it to be a 5 star read for me. I do hope we get more world building in this installment though, because I’m so curious about the Dames Blanches and Dames Rouges. There are so many things to love about the first installment and I really think I can enjoy the second as long as I don’t go in with super high expectations.
Publication Date: September 8th, 2020
When Villains Rise is the third book in the Market of Monsters series. I love this series so much because it has some really well done morally grey characters! I whipped through both the previous books pretty quickly and really enjoyed reading them. These books are kind of dark, but it’s done so well! The characters are fantastic and I can’t wait to see the conclusion to this series! Check out my reviews of Not Even Bones and Only Ashes Remain!
Publication Date: October 13th, 2020
In the Study with the Wrench is the second book in the Clue Mystery series! I am super excited for this book because I loved In the Hall with the Knife! (Read my review here.) This series is inspired by Clue, which is both a board game and a movie. I grew up playing the game and the movie is a favorite of mine. I really love how they changed the setting to a boarding school rather than a mansion and gave it a YA spin!
Are there any sequels coming out that you’re excited for? Are any of these books on your TBR? Have you read any of these books? What did you think? Which of these books looks most exciting to you? Make sure to comment below so we can chat about the books you can’t wait for!
