Top 5 Books About Pirates I Want to Read

This Top 5 series started back in October and I kind of lost motivation for making it every week. But it’s back! This is a series of books that I want to read that all have a common theme. Previously on the blog I have focused on witches, werewolves, thrillers, faeries, fairy tale re-tellings, high fantasy and many more. I am going to try and bring this series back for every Saturday.

Books about Pirates!

I LOVE pirates! I have actually just saw a play last night called Peter and the Starcatcher, which is a prequel to Peter Pan, so I’m totally in a pirate appreciation mood! I’ve read several books about pirates that I’ve really loved. I used to think that I wouldn’t enjoy books set on ships, but after reading The Bone Ships by RJ Barker I want to read more books with sea settings! I really love books about any sort of criminals, it’s kind of my bookish catnip. I’m really glad that pirates are this week’s topic because I wanted to find more pirate books to put on my TBR and this gave me the perfect excuse! Personal Note

I had taken a week long hiatus from my blog because I needed it mentally. Now of course I was planning on posting today for the Top 5 Saturday series that I run… now my post is coming a little late and I decided to tell my followers why. Last night and today have been more than a little stressful as I was harassed and threatened by someone that I used to consider a friend. Emotional abuse is never okay and it happens more frequently than you think. I don’t frequently talk about personal stuff, but I think it’s important to share this with you guys. I’m going to say this one more time…. emotional abuse is never okay.

Honestly I can’t believe I forgot about this book. Months back I had read a review that had me absolutely dying for a copy of this book. From what I read it sounds like this title was written just for me and I can’t believe that I haven’t bought a copy yet!

This book sounds really interesting to me. Forbidden magic, political forces, pirates and royalty all wrapped into one book sounds like something I will absolutely love. I don’t really know what to expect from this one, but I really want to read it.

My list wouldn’t be complete without The Starless Sea on it. I absolutely loved The Night Circus when I read it years ago and I am really excited that the author has finally come out with another novel. Erin Morgenstern’s writing is just absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to finally read her latest book.

I’ve been so hype for this book ever since I saw the cover reveal. This book sounds so incredible and I can’t wait to finally read it because I’ve been excited about this one for months now.

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller

There will be plenty of time for me to beat him soundly once I’ve gotten what I came for.

But not to worry, for Alosa has a few tricks up her sleeve, and no lone pirate can stop the Daughter of the Pirate King.

I had a hard time picking this final title. The top four choices were easy, but this last one was between several books. There are just so many great looking pirate books out there! When I really looked at them all, this was the one that looked the best to me. This book looks like a truly fun adventure novel!
