This bookish post was started by Kathryn at The Book Date, check her out! Basically this post is just my way of sharing what I’m currently reading and a place for you to share what you’re reading. I’m constantly looking for ways to grow my TBR, but my most favorite way is through book recommendations from other bloggers. Please make sure to comment below with what you’ve read this past week!
Just Finished:
So this week I tried to read Foundryside and it sent me into a total reading slump. I couldn’t get into it and I really found that it moved really slowly. It wasn’t that I wasn’t interested, just that it was too slow paced. So I might return to it, but it seems likely that I am going to DNF this one.
Currently Reading:
I am on the blog tour for Star-Crossed tomorrow and I can’t wait to share my review for this title. This book took me right out of my reading slump. If you’ve seen my Monday posts for the last few weeks you would see that I’ve been putting off this title. Well I really wish that I didn’t because this book is SO good. Grabbed me right away with an interesting concept and a main character I adore. ‘
What am I Reading Next?
These are some of the books that I would like to get to this month. Most of these come out in October, so I would like to get to them before they’re released. I am really excited about some of these titles.
Let’s Chat!
What are you currently reading? Is there anything on my TBR that you’re really excited for? Which book do you think I should read first? Are you excited for spooky October reads? Is there anything you read this week that you would recommend? Make sure to tell me in the comments.
James Patterson and Bill Clinton’s book, in fact I need to keep going before the month ends. Lol!

I’ve read a few. She is also an author that sends back book swag if you send her a self addressed stamped envelope. So, I have some of her book swag.

A bunch of authors do. You can find that on their websites typically under extras. Holly Black does it too! I got signed Cruel Prince book swag that way!! It took about 2 months to get back to me, but it was so AMAZING!

I found out because I started signing up for author’s newsletters that I love and I saw on their websites that some will send back book swag if you send them snail mail.

It’s pretty in depth, so I guarantee there’s probably a few things on the list that you’re not using.

I also had issues with Foundryside as well. I have an ARC of it and went into a fantasy slump so I set it aside. I am hoping it’ll be the right time at the beginning of November

I feel like there was a lot of world building but the plot was so slow moving. It wasn’t that it wasn’t interesting, but it was just SO SLOW. I read about half of it and I just found myself never wanting to return to it.

I was actually SUPER INTO IT for the first 15% or so but then the Fantasy Slump took over and it was like pulling teeth for me to keep reading. I am still not sure if it was the book or just not the right time for the book… hoping returning to it next month will do the trick!

That’s actually kind of how I felt. Like it started super strong and then just kind of lost the excitement.

Oh no, it might not have been genre burn out then…

I thought that too but then I started reading a different fantasy and got sucked in right away. I think that the book just moves slow.
